LaCima —Laboratorio de Computación en Investigación, Metodología y Analítica— is the faculty's research laboratory in computing, data analytics and artificial intelligence. It works out of room 204 at FINESI, in Puno, 3,812 metres above sea level.
Its work is organised into four lines: natural language processing, with attention to Spanish and to indigenous languages; high-performance computing, with parallel and distributed algorithms; causal inference models applied to health, education and public policy; and data analytics and science for sustainability, with machine learning on environmental and social problems.
It is coordinated by Ing. Vladimiro Ibáñez Quispe, with Ing. Fred Torres Cruz as co-coordinator.
